My Experience
Student-Athlete at University of Missouri
University of Missouri | Columbia, MO
As a student-athlete at the University of Missouri, I have learned how to balance the demands of college athletics with my academic responsibilities. Playing football has strengthened my ability to work as part of a team, communicate with others, manage my time, and stay committed to long-term goals. Through football, I have developed skills in:
- Teamwork and communication
- Time management
- Leadership and accountability
- Discipline and consistency
- Working toward shared goals
- Performing under pressure
Marine Biology Student
As a marine biology student, I am developing an understanding of marine organisms, ecosystems, and the environmental challenges facing our oceans. My coursework has given me opportunities to explore topics related to marine ecosystems, sustainability, conservation, and the relationship between humans and the environment.
I am especially interested in learning more about ocean ecosystems and how scientific research and conservation efforts can help protect marine environments. I hope to continue building my knowledge and gaining hands-on experience that will prepare me for a future career in marine biology or a related environmental field.
Personal & Professional Development
My experiences as both a student and athlete have helped me develop a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Moving from Georgia to Missouri for college has also given me the opportunity to experience a new environment, meet people from different backgrounds, and become more independent.
I am continuing to build my academic, professional, and interpersonal skills as I work toward my degree and prepare for a career involving marine science and conservation.
